I'm Bálint, born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. I moved to Ireland in 2023 when I started university there. I travelled full time for 15 months and I have clear intentions to do it again, but for longer...

As I grew up, I visited many places both in Hungary and in the neighbouring countries, fell in love with remote places and spontaneous trips. I discovered the beauty of travelling solo during and mostly after the Covid-19 pandemic. Travelling makes you know yourself, the world, and the connection of these two better. I love getting to know other, different people, their lifestyles, mindset, and chatting about any topics, including more controversial ones. (If everyone would be in the same opinion, the world would be absolutely boring.) Experiences through travelling gave me unique, significant and valuable lessons, and I would like to share parts of this physical and spiritual journey with people. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and having a great time!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

The point of my travels is to see different people, habits, and culture. My best memories are from interacting with locals. However, I always did this in an unorganised, random way. (Always met interesting people while beeing on the road, sometimes been invited.)

I was travelling through Mauritania solo in January 2024 when I met a couchsurfing host while walking on the street. I stayed at his place for 2 nights, got to know his other guests, and we had an amazing time. That's how I discovered couchsurfing.

I'm on couchsurfing to meet and learn from different people, get to know them, have fun, listen to personal stories, and share some of mine as well. Hotels are all the same everywhere, and the heart of the world is people. I would also love to show my hometown to as many people as possible, especially the more hidden places.

I want to travel even when I'm not travelling... through meeting people. So feel free to request when I'm available:)

Interessen

I love getting to know new people and learn from them, see how colorful our world is and to understand different mindsets and culture.

Besides travelling, I'm interested in aviation. I fly gliders in Hungary (however, travelling took a lot of my time and money so I paused this activity last year). I'm up for a game of football (soccer) anytime, I also like to watch the game. I'm open to any ideas, grabbing a drink, taking a ride into the sunset, or a hike under or above the clouds...

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music has many different types, and I love exploring them. I'm open to anything new. Generally, I listen to 70s up to nowadays rock, pop, alternate/progressive rock, or anything that comes up! With some of my friends, I'm listening to rap. With others, I'm listening to reggae or metal. Every kind of music have it's own vibes.

Used to watch very different kinds of movies, almost anything apart from fantasy. Some of my favourites are Hitchcock, Kubrick, Tarantino movies, Clockwork Orange, Cuckoo's nest, Monty Python, Aronofsky...

I really appreciate any recommendations, and I happily recommend as well!
