This night owl is a native Washingtonian. I call Olympia, WA my home. In addition to being a life long teacher and learner, I'm also very interested in languages. I lived abroad for almost half of my adult life and returned to the Pacific Northwest of few years ago. I enjoy traveling, gardening, trees, walks and knitting socks. A book is usually close at hand. By nature I have an inexhaustible curiosity and love adventures and discovering new places and things. Making friends from across the globe is a life long passion of mine. I'm known for having a good sense of humour, though it is a bit wry. I'm very service oriented and value those younger than myself. I have an admiration for risk takers and small scale entrepreneurs. Although I cherish the green of the western side of Washington State, I usually long for sunshine and warmth. Living just a few degrees south of the equator for quite a few years, I have grown to love the sun.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
It's always good to make new friends! Swapping stories is certainly lots of fun in my opinions. Moreover, I work as a freelance medical interpreter at such facilities as Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Swedish Hospital. Since my home base is in Olympia, I occasionally have consecutive days of interpreting in Seattle and I may be looking for a place to land for a night or two.
Music, Movies, and Books
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series History - family odysseys, stories of personal transformation Music: if you can dance to it, I will probably love it as well as Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Ravel
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Been traveled completely around the globe.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I have a ton of stories of my life in Africa. I can also make pretty great East African style beans (with coconut sauce and Indian Ocean spices) and rice. You provide the kitchen; I'll do the cooking!
