I'm originally from Des Moines, Iowa. I explored the west, stopping in Denver for eight years, Seattle for four years, then headed east, back to Denver a few years, and now Vermont. I have an insatiable wanderlust that I cannot lay to rest. I'm always looking to explore, try new things and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in meeting new friends, through both hosting and traveling. I hope to see and learn about the world from all you kind folks.

I participate because I believe this is about building community. When I send and receive requests to stay or meet, I do expect something more personal than just a request to stay. If I don't feel like you've read my profile and I don't get a sense of you by reading your profile, I will not accept requests. I am not a hostel and don't expect hosts to be that for me. I am a stranger and hope to become a friend. I want to know you're invested in the community aspect of this group. So, please only make requests if these intentions are shared. Thanks!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many to choose from...going on safari and being roadblocked by a pride of lions in Kruger Nat'l Park, South Africa was pretty memorable.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Backpacking, mountain biking, snowboarding, lots of cooking/baking skills, how to plan meaningful experiences/trips, where to go off the beaten path wherever I've traveled, how to be a good person in this chaotic world. Love sharing my favorite things with others.

Learn: Whatever fun interesting skills you've got, how to get the most out of every day, I'm so down to try just about anything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A respectful, responsible and clean couch surfer, who can be self sufficient, but also likes to make friends and be shown around by a local, if they are open to it. I always offer to make dinner or gift something as a token of my appreciation for hosts. Always so much gratitude!
