I feel like I am missing something when I travel without getting to know any local people. I really want to understand what living in the place I am visiting is like. I have no idea where I am going to live in the future, and what better way to understand what it’s like to live in a place than staying with someone who lives there.

I enjoy most music (even country!), but I have recently been listening to a lot of psychedelic rock, southern folk rock, and lofi hip hop (as long as it’s dusty). I really like Hail Caesar, but I don’t understand why. O’ Brother Where Art Thou is another one of my favorites. I guess I am a fan of the Coen brothers in general. My favorite fiction authors at the moment are Donna Tartt and Cixin Liu (at least in translation). My favorite nonfiction author is David Graeber. I am always willing to talk about his ideas about debt and human economies.
