Discover the world.
I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelors degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Bioinformatics. I am currently a DevOps Engineer at a super fun company, paying off student debt and saving for a long trip to South America in the coming year.
I am very outdoorsy, which is why Colorado seemed so perfect. My main hobby is rock climbing, but certainly love just about everything outdoors.
Enjoy yourself and the company of others. I have always been a very trusting person and its so very nice to see there are others like me out there. My plans can be very tight or none at all. I generally will go with the flow. I've enjoyed it so far and I waiting to see where it takes me next.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started with CouchSurfing around January '12. I was in a bad situation and was led to find all the wonderful people of CouchSurfing who gratefully hosted me for a week.
I have given back by offering my own couch.
Hosted surfers from many states and different countries. Hoping this number will grow! So many great experiences.
I love taking CSers rock climbing. Both indoors and outdoors. Also, I enjoy taking people out on small motorcycle trips around the city or front range mountain roads.
Don't expect to sleep on our couch for free. Its going to cost a smile and a winning attitude. Please include my secret word, DISCOVER, in a couch request.
Surfing was a blast and very helpful. Hosting has been even more. I love sharing what I know and listening to what I don't.
It's amazing how someone who is just visiting may know stuff about your own city that you did not.
I heart Rock Climbing. It is my passion and my cocaine. I climb rock faces, buildings, boulders and anything else with something to hold. I may have been arrested for climbing the Denver Art Museum. Currently I am pushing myself to the next level of climbing by training hard and I am enjoying the process. Hiking, biking, eating, sleeping, and living are also lots of fun.
Music, Movies, and Books
Hate to say it but I don't read much. Into The Wild, Brain Rules, and The Ethical Slut are some of my favorites. Mostly magazines; Men's Health, Runners World, Rock and Ice, and Climbing Magazine.
Music: ManchesterOrchestra, SheWantsRevenge, ChildishGambino, Spoon, StringCheeseIncident, LilyAllen, FirstAidKit, IAmArrows, StVincent, tUnE-yArDs, Asgeir, RoyalBlood, Pinback, Mumford&Sons, ModestMouse, RedHotChiliPeppers, RadicalFace, BonIver, TheShins, SeaAndCake, IronAndWine, DeathCabForCutie, CoconutRecords, RobCrow
Independent films and documentaries are my favorite but I'll watch just about anything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not about to put one solo thing.
Hiked a 14er. Camped high in the mountains. Built a biking, running, and equestrian trail in the Continental Divide. Rode with thousands of bikers in downtown Denver (Denver Cruisers). Canyoneering, hiking, exploring in Moab, UT. Climbing in Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Utah, South & North Dakota, Colorado, Nevada, California, Oregon, Arkansas, Wyoming, Mexico, Italy, France, Thailand, and Spain. Multiple cross country trips. And that's in the last three years.
Teach, Learn, Share
If a bear is chasing you, climb a tree. Bears can't climb trees... or is that squirrels. Either way, climb a tree when you get a chance. You'll see the world in a different perspective.
