I can appreciate all types of music except for heavy metal basically, but I gravitate towards music I can dance to and folk music. "A brief History of Everything" is a great book by Ken Wilbur, and for movies I generally like dramas that pack a lot of deep meaning. "Shawshank Redemption" fits the bill.
