I want to speak with hard-earned confidence, not unfounded bravado.
I've ridden my bicycle a thousand miles in the rain and two thousand in the sun, but all it takes is one angry truck and doctor's all, "I think you need to give cycling a brake."
I spend my time skipping stones across a lake and humming the theme song to Dawson's Creek. I've been to most states and they're all pretty solid. I give blood and I give people a hard time. I meet a lot of strangers and leave a lot of friends.
I'm a strong believer in a better world through a better self. If you think the world needs to be changed then start with you, not everyone that you think is wrong. The problem might not be them, but the fact that you believe there is any problem at all. I don't have all the answers, and I don't strive for perfection. I just strive for a little better than yesterday. A little more open than last week. A little more accepting than last year. A little more kind than I've ever been before. If someone shows you kindness, pay it forward. Who cares if you believe in God or not, if you're straight or not, if you're dirty or not, if you're broken or not? You're here and you're alive and so you are my brother, and I will show you every kindness I can because that is what should be done and that is what you deserve. Regardless of your views, you deserve every bit of respect in the world. I don't agree with the people that shout and scream about what's right and wrong, but if - from one human being to another - they needed my help, I sure hope I can be the person that helps them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Because I live on a train, all I can do is share my stories with other CS'ers. When the train stops in a city for days on end, I look up someone willing to host and I share with them what I can in return. I don't like passing through a city without meeting a local CS'er and getting a first hand view of what the town is all about. You're more than welcome to surf on my train! I just can't register it here, what with no permanent address and all.
I've surfed all across the country, but never outside. It's on my to-do list, okay?!
Adventure is my interest, and subsequently travel, because travel usually is an adventure. I desperately search for life's big adventure, and I hope to have many little adventures along the way. Aside from that, relaxing is an big interest of mine. Life is often too exhausting! I would just as soon stay in and relax with my friends as I would go out and explore. On those occasions, it's the people you're with that matter, not what you're doing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rode from Pittsburgh, PA to Atlanta, GA on a self-sustained bicycle tour. Camping in a new place every night and fighting for each mile was an amazing adventure.
I live and work with children on a moving train.

If you're ever looking for a place to stay when you're on the road and all you've got is a tent, look no further. Churches, fire departments, police stations, and the like are usually pretty understanding. Just ask if you can set up your tent in their yard for one night. You'll feel safer, you'll be safer than if you were setting up on the side of the road or in some random woods. Usually you can be gone at dawn anyway, so they won't even be bothered. Just explain your adventure and more often than not they'll understand.
