Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been off couchsurfing for too long. I hope it hasn't changed since I used it a lot. I loved it when I hosted some years back. After a long trip in 2019 and 2020, I just never got back into it. Some life changes and the urge to hit the road again got me to sign up again this morning, mostly to host.

Interests

Hiking, backpacking, fishing, learning, reading, meeting folks, growing vegetables and fruit trees, swimming, cold beer, traveling with friends, traveling alone, new cultures, real country music...

Music, Movies, and Books

Lonesome dove and sometimes a great notion are my favorite books. I read constantly and am starting to read novels in Spanish. I love talking about books and movies. Coolhand Luke and one flew over the cuckoos nest are towards the top of my list for movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taken some major breaks from work to take long, mostly wilderness-oriented trips. I hiked the Pacific Crest trail in 2019 and spent the pandemic camping in the Rockies with some close friends. I've been back at work for a while now, but getting the itch to get back on the road. I like meeting people from all over. I also really like San Antonio and can either point out cool places to go and see or take you if I'm free. I should have a bike or two that you can borrow while I'm at work.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
