Sobre mí

It's a Sunday and I'm sitting out in the backyard with a coffee in hand, listening to a set by Goldie and have my attention split between the happenings in the garden... the flight of bees and the rustle in the trees and the rest of my attention is on writing up this profile for some upcoming travels. I've enjoyed growing roots here in Melbourne for the past 12 years doing things that Melbourne is renown for such as having a lil boogie under trees at a festival, text book reading in cafes, chakra cleansing when required. I quite enjoy making things, particularly recycling furniture and odd scraps of wood and other nice things people have thrown away on the side of the road... one man's trash is another man's treasure.

I like plants and people. There was a time I thought that plants would be my profession and people my hobby. I have decided to flip that around and so I work as an osteopath when I'm not playing in the backyard making something or talking to the plants. I'm quite proud of last years tomatoes and chilis and I have my family of bonsais which I will miss whilst I am staying on your couch (I think I will avoid surfing on your couch as a wet couch is no place for a good nights rest).

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Well I have traveled a little over the years and I have come to the conclusion that galleries, bars, mosques, museums, festivals and forests are wonderful but equally so too are the people. I have only just signed up to this thing recently but in my last house my housemates hosted many couchsurfers and it seems a nice system of giving and receiving.

Intereses

Movement and music form a large part of my life. Like a cat I love a good stretch to find all the little tight stuck bits and coax them into being smooth moving parts of the whole. I enjoy a lot of different music probably all of which having some origins to jazz and orchestral music. More specifically I like lo-fi, downtempo, trip hop, hip hop, jazz, house, deep house, good techno not yucky techno, acoustic stuff particularly with haunting cello, clarinet and oud for exotic measure. I have recently bought digital turntables and am trying (not yet succeeding) to mesh these worlds together.

Música, películas y libros

Books tend to pile up on my bedside table, most of them are about 3/4 finished as ideas of things I want to learn about come at a faster rate than my ability to read the text on the page. I like reading non fiction and learning but I 've recently decided it's nice to read fiction and am half way through The Wind Up Bird Chronicles by Haruki Murakami on recommendation from my housemate.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Riding my push bike, eating a pizza slice, listening to music, texting a friend and crossing over tram tracks all at the same time. (If you haven't been to Melbourne tram tracks are things that if you're unlucky eat your bike tire and send you flying over the handle bars)

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach you how to stretch the muscles you didn't know you had; to throw a frisbee better than you currently can; how to make an espresso martini; how to make an aeroplane that does loop de loops; how to take your nachos to the next level.

I'd like to learn how to do better handstands, How to mix music more fluently and tie complicated knots, palm read.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

A bottle of wine, a coffee, a laugh, a question, an answer, perhaps my couch one day.
