ABOUT ME

In terms of personality, I'd like to think I'm a positive person and comfortable in my own skin. I'm not saying that's always easy or achievable but definitely a good place to aim for! I have been fortunate to have some amazing people surround me in life which has given me lots of inspiration and drive. I have no idea what's around the corner for me but appreciating the lessons if not always the ride. It's all about experience, right...

I have a disability as the result of a childhood injury - I use a wheelchair so always considering access with places. Although I don’t think it’s held me back from much :)

I used to live in Brighton but just before the pandemic I moved to a town just north of the city. It would be great to meet people locally or host people visiting.

PHILOSOPHY

I wouldn't say that I have a particular philosophy. I love hearing about what other people think about life and their attitude to it. I think that a lot happens that we can't control, and that we can only try to control our response to it.

So far, I've made some great memories through it.

Interests

They are changeable. I like reading and writing; people watching; following the tennis; jewellery making; music; the freedom, creativity and space of the country side (I grew up there so am biased); cooking; films; the variety of culture in city life; knitting; poetry; cups of tea; DMCs... I guess a lot of things that lots of people like. One thing that sticks with me through everything is writing poetry.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots. I don't read enough at the moment though - the last book I read was the Book Thief and I loved it. And two of my favourites are The Shadow of the Wind and Jane Eyre. I like to escape with a book, so usually prefer fiction.

Movies - Little Miss Sunshine, The Matrix, Amelie, Little White Lies, Pulp Fiction, The Departed, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Shame, Blue Valentine, Where the Wild Things are - more. I'm not a big horror fan, although I seem to end up frequently getting outnumbered on this choice!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm going to say Sky diving. That was one of the most adrenal moments I've had....out of choice :)
