I plan on traveling across the US on Rt 20 in May and June. After that I will be traveling to Europe for 3 months in Spain, France and possibly either Ireland or Croatia. I am looking to meet adventuresome,like-minded people. I am well-versed in all phases of construction it would be helpful for any of your small projects. As a former English teacher I could help anyone who is wanting to learn the English language better. Not only am I a great conversationalist and joke teller, but a gourmet cook as well, all skills I look forward to sharing with others.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I want to travel and meet interesting , adventurous people. The best part of traveling is meeting people who live in the countries to which I sojourn. Hotels only provide a modicum of interaction with locals and then only in a professional setting. I don't want to meet other Americans and then have an American experience in foreign countries. I much prefer knowing the people and their country through meaningful personal exchanges.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies-stories based on relationship (ex The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, I Never Sang for My Father) Music-Old school, Beatles etc. Books-I was an English Major and taught for a year so I love all well written books (except technical ones)
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Rode a motorcycle across the US as well as through Thailand. Lived in a 40 ft Greyhound bus that I converted to a motor coach and traveled all to every state in the Union including Alaska. Unfortunately I could not inflate the tires enough to get it to float so I was unable to drive it Hawaii.
Teach, Learn, Share
Taught English for a year right out of college. I am taking a TEFL course in Thailand in October and plan to augment my travel budget with teaching opportunities around the world. Would love to learn the language of the countries in which I travel.
