Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Boubker (but you can call me Bob, as most of my friends do). I’m 25 years old and living in Göteborg, Sweden. I’m a mechanical engineer by profession, but a traveler at heart.
Because of my work, I’d describe myself as a bit of a nerdy enthusiast when it comes to aviation and cars, but of course my main passion is travel. Working full-time doesn’t allow me to travel as much as I’d like, but I always try to fit in trips on weekends or short vacations to escape my routine.
The first thing I look for when traveling is meeting people and creating new connections.
I started traveling solo with my first trip to Croatia in January 2024, and as they say: once you start solo traveling, you never go back.
Although I’ve had a Couchsurfing account since 2016, I really began using it regularly in the summer of 2024. At first I used it just to hang out with people while traveling alone, but later I started hosting travelers at my place in Sweden. I quickly got into the community, and now Couchsurfing has become a necessary part of my trips.
IMPORTANT RANDOM NOTES 🗒️ :
- I don't smoke i don't drink.
- Requests generated by ChatGPT are not the best way to find a host.
- If you are a guy and you have references only from women, you need to reconsider the purpose of this community.
- I expect from my guest to leave the place and things as they found them.
- If you are only using CS because you can't stay with someone you're visiting, or if you will be busy all day with a conference or event it's better to not send a request.
- I don't mind to host new people with no references but at least you should sound into the community and take some time to learn about the concept.
- If you are introvert and can't maintain conversation i don't think this is your best place, i just hate silent awkward moments.
- If i’m hosting you on a weekend and we didn’t discuss the plan for next day or which time to wake up, please don’t be early because i try to get extra sleep on weekends. But feel free to wake up and go out if you want just stay quiet.
- If you are leaving on a weekday i prefer that you leave same time as me in the morning when i go to work around 8.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I always say that I don’t care about the place as much as I care about the people I meet, that’s the main reason I’m here.
My main focus when traveling is connecting with locals and fellow travelers to experience the real culture and atmosphere.
I really appreciate the community of Couchsurfing and all the people doing their best to keep this culture, i'm happy to be part of it .
