About Me

A punk-monk vagabond with superhuman realistic-optimism.

Pretty easygoing. learning more about love, freedom, unity, truth, and peace. grinning at the inevitability of a growing goodness. often strange, sometimes wild. looking forward to living and loving and meeting and going. my friends are family.

I've been a huge fan of certain ska, punk, rocksteady, and rootsreggae music and ideas since long ago, and I'm passionate about people, learning and expanding/enriching the internal world, the great outdoors, and the concept of story- share some of yours with me. I'm also a seeker of meaning, and my life is in following after that transcendent and ineffable source of goodness, which has been conceptualized in many ways. For a while now I've been vagabonding all around different lands and waters.

These days I've been dreaming some crazy dreams about new ways of intercultural exchange and learning.

Grinning at the inevitability of a growing goodness.

Seeing our humanity as wrapped up in the humanity of others.

Being at peace (instead of afraid or anxious or controlling) with uncertainty and valuing the opportunities it brings.

"the business of the universe is to make a fool of you that you will know yourself for one, and so begin to be wise"

Asking yourself who you are and why you're doing what you're doing, then really trying to see the world from someone else's perspective. Remembering you will die one day, letting go of the day's expectations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

i've had great experiences, and you can read about some of them in my CS References section. Or even the reasons under the "About Me" section. Or better yet, let's just get talking. I'd rather share naturally...

People, Trying new things, Nature (especially the sky and the water), thinking Grand Thoughts about Nothing, comparing people's irises to supernovae, the sound of smashing glass in a dumpster full of glass, using the knocker instead of the doorbell, drinking grapefruit juice after sweet breakfast foods, serenading my cat with made up songs about her or not about her, lighting incense in the shower so that the smoke and steam mix, nacho hueves, geographantasizing, going to cemeteries on sunny days, eating green bananas, imagining what animals are thinking, watching a thunderstorm on a hot summer evening, fake translating mexican soap operas, smelling my own armpits at the end of the day, feeling the texture of paintings (whether dry or wet), a binge of documentaries and foreign films, sleeping with one arm resting on the dip between my nose and brow, looking up ridiculous conspiracy theories on the internet, fish balloons!, hearing about what really matters to other people or their life stories, created nonsense words, yo-yos tricked out like skateboards, dancing nakedly, myths and faerie tales, Sergio Leone westerns, the sound of a clock ticking, nomadic people groups, the smell of most garages, mangoes and plums and mangosteen and jackfruit, making baby dinosaur noises while peeing, adventuring, loving, exchange, helping one another, learning.
