Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, I studied sociology and history at Rice University in Houston, Texas and graduated in the Spring of 2015. I have moderate proficiency in Spanish and German and have a love of learning new languages and exploring new cultures, cities, and environments. I enjoy sports, and baseball consumes a much-too-large portion of my life. I am also a huge fan of food (outside of seafood) and I love just about every genre of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the mountains of Morocco with a buddy and met some local Berbers while gasping for a breath in the thin air and scorching heat.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can show you what it's like to live in a rapidly growing and changing city. Shenzhen is only a few decades old yet already has about 15 million people in it. Parts of the city are remarkably international and Western, while other areas demonstrate a uniquely Chinese feel. I live out in the more "local" Bao'an District, but have easy access to the Special Economic Zone.
