I traveled for most of my 20s. Work a year, travel a year, repeat. I then returned to the USA and mostly-settled down for about 9 years in NYC. Did big city life in incredibly small apartments, kinda burnt out.

It's been a lifesaver. I like staying with locals, getting to view the place through a local's eyes and discover the best spots. It's the best way to really discover a place. I love sharing the time together and eating the local food. I'm happy to receive people into my space as well when I have them, I love being able to offer people the same kind of experience I enjoy receiving. Feeling familiar in a strange foreign land... that bit of help I can offer someone is amazing.
