About Me

***CURRENTLY TRAVELING AND NOT ABLE TO HOST ***

*Feel free to message me for any questions you may have about Micronesia, it’s a very expensive place to travel and I would be happy to help in any way I can 😌*

I'm a contract archaeologist and travel a lot for work and pleasure. Humble and chill guy who likes to live outside the comfort zone. Sometimes the beaten path is good too though.

Always trying to help fellow nomads in need. My main goal in life is to meet interesting people, eat EVERYTHING, and engage in everything before my knees give out and I become a cranky old man.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to couchsurfing when I moved to St. Louis in 2012 and needed to rely on the kindness of others. I didn’t have any money and needed a place to stay and was a bit desperate. After two days in a new city I met a Couchsurfer from Slovakia who offered me the keys to her apartment in exchange for house sitting and taking care of her dog for a couple weeks. I was blown away by the faith she had in me as a total stranger! Needless to say it rekindled my faith for humanity and allowed me to save enough money to find my own place afterwards.

It was a totally humbling experience that I aim to reciprocate as much as possible. Most couchsurfers are good people and I look to host, meet, or stay with as many of you as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Chinatown, The Beach, The Hunter, Never Cry Wolf, Midnight Cowboy. David Lynch. Film Noir & French New Wave get me hard.

Music: Underground metal, folk, post-rock, shoegaze, cheezy 80s/90s pop, lots of random and really stupid stuff. We've definitely got something in common. I love talking about music.

Books: Fitzgerald, Faulkner, Joyce, Hemingway, Zola, Kingsolver, Conrad, Waugh, O’Brien, many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran with the bulls twice in Spain and almost got gored in the heart.

Teach, Learn, Share

Per aspera ad astra.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Guitar or flintknapping lessons. I am also a very good cook. If we drink enough beer I can teach you the choreography to “It’s Gonna be Me” by N*SYNC.
