Travel is Life!
I grew up in different countries and i will never stop looking for opportunities to travel and explore this planet...I feel lucky to be alive at this interesting point in history and while there are MANY crazy things going on, I also feel the opportunities have never been greater to connect, exchange, discover, and grow together...
- My family is originally from Germany but I only lived there for 4 years during elementary school. I was born in Istanbul, Turkey but have only returned twice since I moved away from there as a kid - it remains a place i want to explore further
- After studying International Business Management in the Netherlands in 2010 for 2 years I did an amazing CS / hitchhiking trip through Scandinavia and Eastern Europe , I decided to teach English for a while (in the Czech Republic and Russia). After 2 years I was still searching for something that i truly loved so i continued doing hitchhiking trips (from Berlin to Istanbul in 2013, from Berlin to Morocco in 2014) and have had many wonderful experiences with fellow travellers and other free spirits! I took some time to explore many topics of interest, from consciousness to permaculture and social entrepreneurship, etc...i finally discovered my passions after all... I am now building a business based on what I learned, with the pilot project launching in East Africa.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
"Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet" We are all a part of a family of life on Earth (even though most have forgotten that fact!)
I am a curious and open minded person so i like to talk about anything and everything. All things are interconnected.
A few years ago I started to work on farms to learn about organic farming methods, I completed a permaculture design course in 2015- my dream is live on a beautiful piece of natural land and do permaculture, aquaponics, natural healing etc, and start initiatives around the world that combine principles of various holistic fields - this has now developed into my "Transcend" social business project. If youre interested in this dont hesitate to contact me, I sometimes give workshops on these topics.
I have been on a spiritual journey as well during my travels, i am continuously learning about the nature of consciousness and reality, in theory and practice...the most fascinating subject if you ask me!
Music, Movies, and Books
I love music from all around the world...have gone through many different phases, i think there is good music in all genres... some that come to mind is thievery corporation, stick figure, bonobo, amadou and miriam...always up for good techno/psytrance, prog electro, minimal, raggae, dub, instrumental, etc...
Movies that make me think or are a good reflection of the human journey... some of my all time favourites would be apocalypto/watchmen/blood diamond/into the wild/fight club/the matrix/waking life/lord of war, etc...i devour documentaries
I like to jump around diverse books about nature, travel, science, civilization, consciousness, health, esoteric stuff, etc. am always looking for more information and inspiration!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking through 35+ countries was definitely amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
-stories from the road
-various healing modalities I could share
I like to learn (/constantly improve:) cooking, dancing, languages...anything you want to teach me or share!
Recently i have begun practicing and teaching workshops for "trigger point release therapy" - its a really effective technique of releasing tension/stress in our bodies and minds - im happy to give you an intro session!
I also study transpersonal psychology and shamanic psychotherapy, i have used sacred plant medicines (like mushroom, ayahuasca, etc.) in a ceremonial context to heal myself and others - I believe in their potential to create harmony between human civilization and nature/universal consciousness. this topic has a tendency to lead to long hours of deep conversation:))
