About Me

Learning Arabic!

Based in Malmö, but currently living in Amman, Jordan, where I'm doing an internship with UNRWA. So happy to be back in the Middle East! :)

Good friends, stimulating conversations over a coffee or beer, Latinamerican and Arabic music, dancing, solidarity, courage and struggle makes me happy.

I'm an anarchist. It's not as strange as it sounds, actually it's is a pretty simple and reasonable idea :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My husband and I have had lots of couchsurfers staying at our place in Malmö and some in Beijing. I've only surfed once, but hoping to do more of that in the future.

Right now I'm renting a room in shared flat, so I can't host anyone at the moment.

I've meet some lovely people that have felt like old friends from the moment we met. It's beautiful when that happens!

I enjoy travelling, dancing, painting, drinking coffee and discussing politics.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hmm... these things are always hard for me to list, since I'm the kind of person that forgets the name of the movie 5 minutes after watching it. But on the top of my head, not necessarily representing the very best;

Books: Yarden by Kristian Lundberg, Mig Äger ingen by Åsa Linderborg, Upside Down: A Primer for the Looking-Glass World by Eduardo Galeano, Bright-sided by Barbara Ehrenreich, anything by Isabel Allende, När oskulder kysser by Per Hagman, Bitterfittan by Maria Sveland

Movies: I'll get back to you on that one. As usual I can't think of a single title. I recently saw "Castaway on the moon", that was a great one!

TV shows: Shameless!

Music: Mohammed Assaf, Chico Trujillo, Silvio Rodriguez, Håkan Hellström, Ebba Grön, dabke

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunset over Lake Baikal. 11th of September demonstration in Santiago, Chile. Dolphins jumping along our boat in the Philippines. Friends from South Africa, India, Brazil and Mozambique jamming and dancing together :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach sewing, if you have a machine (it wasn't very practical to bring mine to Jordan!). Would love for someone to teach me how to dance dabke and speak arabic!

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Argentina, Czech Republic, Ghana, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Russian Federation, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Chile, China, Jordan, Palestine, Sweden
