I am a civil engineer who not only currently stuck in İstanbul due to work conditions but also wants to accomplish his big dream of travelling the world. I grew up on Turkey and as a half European-Asian country citizen, I had the chance to testify plenty of cultures due to the touristic characteristic of Istanbul. However, most of my enthusiasm for traveling has blazed when I was an Erasmus student in Warsaw. It enhanced my perspective and made me a more enthusiastic person to get out of my comfort zone and see what is out there!

HOW I PARTICIPATED IN COUCHSURFING?

Once a lovely friend of mine told me that there was a website called CS and she told me about her experiences how she stayed in different places in Europe, how she had a chance to learn the cultures of plenty of countries and how she made so many foreigner friends. Therefore, I wondered and signed up to the CS. After signing up the whole concept felt really well and I started to travel by using it.

In addition, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. And CS helps to make it real.

Besides, I've lived in Poland for 5 months. During those 5 months I used CS a lot. Now I wanna do the same thing and help to the others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCES

So far I have been to Krakow (Poland), Kaunas (Lithuania), Nice (France), and Cologne (Germany) thanks to CS.

兴趣

I really enjoy learning a new language. At the moment, I am learning Italian and love to talk with someone who is native in Italian.

I wanna try new foods that will amaze me. I adore local foods, wanna try anything that's new to me. From the sourest one to the sweetest one, surprise me!

I love hearing stories of other people because "The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know."

I kinda listen every genre of songs but the most which I listen, I can say: popular music, some rap, and metal.

My favorite movie, hmm... ,that's a tough one. I like movies which are based on real life stories such as: The Pianist, Imitation Game etc.

I read lots of fictional and classic novels during my loong commute in Istanbul to spare the time.

Living in Siberia on my own for my internship. I survived to live in such a cold place.

I can teach to the host a bit of my culture and maybe even some Turkish.

I can learn their foods, their life experiences, their style of living from the host.

We can always communicate and share knowledge. Knowledge is infinite and the more you know the wiser you are.

I can teach him/her a bit of Turkish culture. If the host wants to practice his/her English or better Italian, I'm available.

I can show them around by taking them to the hidden gems of Istanbul. I can make them avoid tourist traps which we have so much in touristic places.
