One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2017 I left my job and all the comforts I had in Colombia to go to Australia for 15 months to study English and at the same time work as a delivery driver, dishwasher and kitchen hand; then I toured 5 countries in Asia and one in Europe with the money I had saved, during that trip I had an idea to create a hostel. I came back to Colombia with only 10 euros in my pocket, I started working straight away. I was working for 2 years and I saved 80% of my salary. In 2021 I quit my job when I was in Bogota and moved to Medellin, I spent 9 weeks adapting and renovating the place for a hostel, we opened in September 2021 and close the place in June 2023, it was a very nice experience because we hosted a lot of guests, some of them are my friendly currently, I just can say it was an unforgettable experience in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Cook, , Improve my English, I want to learn Italian, Share life's experiences
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach cooking Colombian food, help other improve their Spanish.
I want to mention a special tip for future guests "when someone shares their place with you remember it is because they want you to have a good experience even with small things and give back to them too, for example by sharing some skill you have, making the bed where you have slept or organizing the place where you have stayed."
This advice is based on 3 experiences before I have had with the people I have hosted.
