ABOUT ME

We are best friends.
Scot studied ceramics at the University of Kansas and now is a full time house-painter. About a year ago, he decided to take up boxing and now works out with his coach and fellow boxers on week nights. He enjoys when Carly cooks for him and especially if there's beer to go along. He also has a nack for "saving" dishes that Carly went wrong on, usually by adding peanut butter.
Carly is graduating in May 2010 with a degree in molecular biology. She works at a small coffee shop in Kansas City and makes some wicked drinks. Don't come in and order stupid iced caramel machiatos from her. She loves to cook, especially for Scot because he loves to eat. She hardly uses recipes and never writes down what goes into the food. Next year, she's taking time off to apply to med schools and hopefully headed there in 2011.

We have many philosophies. We try to try new things and try not to have preconceived notions that will hold us back.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have couch surfed but never hosted. If you're in the Kansas City area, you can always hit us up for a drink or coffee though. Just include the word fantabulous in your request and we'll try to make it happen.
Eventually we'll start hosting and pay it forward. Schedules need to be more nailed down and less sporadically insane though. We recommend couch-surfing to everyone looking to travel to new places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Belgium, Ireland and The Netherlands so far. Now that we're back in the United States, we'll be adding cities from our home country.

Just about anything once. Scot likes to look at trendsnow.com and Carly spends a lot of time researching cancer (mostly for school but also because she finds it very interesting).
For some reason, we both have hairstyles that fluctuate a lot. It should qualify as a way of expressing ourselves at least, even if it's not really an interest. Scot has buzzed his hair, had a mohawk, had long poofy curls, had dreadlocks, and considered growing it out to donate it recently. Carly's curly hair has been varying shades of brown, black and red but never blonde, sometimes with streaks of pink or red and grown or cut to various lengths and styles.

Carly hasn't seen a lot of movies, which irritates a lot of people. Scot likes thoughtful movies.
Carly loves Harry Potter and unsuccessfully tries to make Scot read it. Scot reads Saul Williams and has the entire collection of Calvin and Hobbes. Carly gets stuck reading textbooks a lot, but she loves books similar to A Thousand Splendid Suns.
