Overview
About Me
After many years of teaching archaeology in my country, Catalonia, I went backpacking for almost 2 years around five continents of the world. Afterwards I lived in Australia for 8 years and I have recently moved back to Catalonia.
I'm living in a small coastal village, paradise, but I miss a bit of cultural diversity. I do miss talking to people from different countries and backgrounds. So, it will be my pleasure to host you if it works out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that meeting people from different cultures give us the big picture and makes us not only more knowledgeable but also more courageous, free and tolerant. And, certainly, my trips around the world wouldn´t have been half as interesting without Cs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: mainly European cinema (e.g. The Eternity and one day by Theo Angelopoulus, Il Postino by Michael Radford, Mine vaganti by Ferzan Ozpetek...) and the occasional Bollywood.
Music: not a big fan but sometimes I listen to vocal jazz (Ella Fitzerand, Louis Amstrong...), opera (Verdi, Puccini and Carmen by Bizet..), Buena Vista Social Club and , yes, Abba.
Books: novels (e.g. The River between by Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o; The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver; Les particules elementals by Michel Houllebecq; Amor i no by Carme Dalmau; La casa de los espíritus by Isabel Allende; A fine balance by Rohinton Mistry; The death of Vishnu and The city of Devi by Manil Suri; Mullumbimby by Melissa Lucashenko; The white girl by Tony Birch and many more)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacking on my own across Morocco and enjoying the amazing hospitality of local people; living with traditional tribes in Kenya; staying in a surrealist Indian ashram; travelling New Zealand hitch-hiking and enjoying kiwi kindness; enrolling as crew in a yacht to sail in the Pacific islands; staying with the hospitable locals of villages in Fiji, Vanuatu and Samoa; staying with indigenous tribes in the Peruvian jungle; crossing South America through the Amazon by cargo boat, in Australia: living in Kangaroo Island for two years and next to Uluru for 7 months, and enjoying to hospitality of different remote Aboriginal communities during my travels.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Love to share travelling stories; discuss views; cooking something from my country to my hosts if they are up to it, and go around with them if it suits them (I can also be independent).
