About Me
+++ NOTE: Due to the Covid-19 Virus Pandemy unfortunately I will not be able to do my trip like I planned :( Health is the most important thing! But if someone feels like she / he wants to write me and get in contact for a trip that starts a little bit later, when the whole thing has calmed down again, please don't hesitate! I will do the trip later for sure!! And then I am happy to already know some people in Porto or on my way down. All the best for you! Stay healthy! +++
Hello World!
My name is Caro, I just turned 34...Woohooo?! Actually I myself can hardly believe that I am already that "mature" as I am often behaving like a child :D
I am living in Cologne, which is not the worst place to live in Germany. Many people are open-minded here, there are loads of things to do and to explore. But...in the end it's still Germany ;)
Unfortunately I never travelled a lot in my life so far. I studied, made business, had relationships, pets...which all prevented me from exploring the world like I wanted to... In the end I had worked too much for useless money as I had too less time to spend it. Dilemma!
Some years ago – when I was really suffering from this situation – I quit my "safe and permanent employment" to became a Freelancer and tried to get one step closer to how I really wanted to live like. I started to become more responsible for myself and to find out what I really want from life, not what other people tell me I SHOULD WANT.
So: since 3 years now I am working as Freelance Art Director (specialized on digital media), which means that I can almost work from anywhere (where I can find WiFi).
Besides my professional work as Graphic Designer I am a passionate photographer, love all about design, produce my own designs for print-on-demand products and write short stories. I come with a whole package of creativity as you can see ;) Maybe there are some intersections so that we can create something nice together? :)
I love and enjoy surfing since 5 years and would consider myself as Intermediate, but still learning though ;) It really would be great to connect my connections on couchsurfing with my passion for real surfing to improve my skills, because Germany is not really known for good waves :D
I am a very responsible, diligent and caring person. I love every kind of pets (I have two cats on my own), live a vegan lifestyle and feel responsible for our planet and environment.
My greatest dream is to move permanently from Germany to Portugal some day. I love this country so much! And I think, that for example building up a Surfcamp on my own would suit me very well in the future. So my couchsurfing experiences could maybe also help to let me find my "place to be" – figuratively and literally! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am traveling on my own from Germany to Portugal in April / May till June and I want to make local connections and hopefully friends to get to learn more about the places I will go to. I think that couchsurfing is the perfect opportunity to get in contact with locals and to figure out what's the "magic" of a place.

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music it's Soul, RnB and HipHop I like the most.
Movies: Too many choices :)) But still, I really love the movie Pulp Fiction.
As book, I can absolutely recommend "The Why Cafe" by John Strelecky and for sure the digital nomad bible "The 4 hour work week".
