About Me

I am an avid traveller who has spent much of his time in very common "touristy" cities in the world (Paris, London) who is now looking to explore farther and less familiar places. I am an avid writer, musician and dancer, who has learned to play a number of instruments (drum set, ukulele, marimba) and who has worked for several years on screenplays and poetry collections. I have also spent time as an amateur photographer. I spend much of my time performing balance exercises on a slackline (see: portable tightrope), and critiquing the latest film releases. I also work as a semi-professional bartender, and have been hired to create unique cocktails for small private events in New York City.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to one day be a journalist and a writer, and I hope that by traveling via couchsurfing (and not staying in hotels) I can grow my respect and appreciation for different ways of thinking. I want to know about local etiquette, and to hear stories about local neighborhoods that only a CouchSurfing host would be able to tell me about. I want to learn the reasons why CS hosts love their cities and I want to appreciate their countries with the same passion they show for these places.

I have a very strong faith in people and in random acts of kindness, and my goal through couchsurfing is to create friendships around the globe with individuals who can educate me on topics and perspectives that are different from my own, and who can remind me of the beauty in our generosity to one another.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I love to teach people how to slackline (tightrope walk). It's a very challenging exercise in trusting oneself that tests both physical and mental balance, and it's incredibly rewarding to see people make it across for the first time.
Learn: I love to learn small but impressive party tricks. Anything from a complicated dance move to solving a Rubik's cube becomes an interesting skill that I try to learn.
Share: I love to share stories about my traveling, especially when it inspires other people to travel more when they realize how accessible it is to do so.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My energy and interesting stories about travel and writing! Also some excellent drink recipes for those who like to sip cocktails, and some insider tips about the movie and tv world that I work in.
