About Me

To learn languages, meet random and fun people, and unicycle the world.

I'm 25 years old and originally from St. Louis, MO. I am currently unicycling through North and South America. I have broken the world record for longest unicycle trip, and hope to have doubled it by the time I finish. I am a very passionate and lively person. I'm an artist, writer, rock-climber, and cross-country unicyclist!

To follow my progress: or "Unicycling the World" on Facebook

I am generally open-minded and willing to tolerate others' personal philosophies, but I'm a laid-back buddhist who believes in vegetarianism, environmentalism, and keeping overpopulation in check. I'm open and friendly to anyone, as long as he/she is not ignorant or hateful.

When someone asks me, " Do you believe in God?" I answer, "I believe in Good."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a lively, passionate, and creative individual. My competitive nature determines my choices and paths in life: I'm always looking for the next challenge and/or adventure.

I have been lucky enough to have a strangers take me in to their houses, so I should return in kind!

All my experiences have been wonderful EXCEPT for one (strange, but funny):
I have one VERY negative CS experience, as you can see in my references (The negative one written in Spanish) - he greeted me at his door WITHOUT PANTS OR UNDERWEAR, and his t-shirt did little to cover up. I thought he was taking a nap or something, but that's how he remained for the 24 hours I was there - HALF-NAKED. We're both men, and it was "his house," as he said, but this is just not appropriate for having a stranger in your house. Because this made me very uncomfortable, I acted defensive and did not have as much to talk/share with him.
In English, his review of me said something along the lines of "it was his worst experience in years, I opened a package of plastic containers, like glad-containers (in the kitchen, and because he had told me nothing, and had said "I will not cook for you, this is not a free motel"). Upon leaving, I had some extra of my food in that container, and I absentmindedly brought it with me. When he brought it to my attention, I gave it back, along with my food.
The guy was very strange! Haha, but I survived and I know now that if someone greets me without pants, I will turn around and walk away.

Unicycling (long distance, trails, and bmx), rock climbing, yoga, swimming in winter, food and nutrition, art, and traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I live to expand myself in the world, and sometimes expand the world. I believe that humans should be responsible and take care of each other and their environs. I dislike organized religion, but think faith and spirituality are essential.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once dove head first off a 25m rock face into water. I've also rock-climbed butt naked, ha. One time I was in Thailand without money, and a canadian friend who I had just met lent me $100 when I asked! It helped me get to a place to have money sent to me from home, and I paid her back a couple weeks later. I believe in the power of good. I have three unicycling world records (as yet unofficial): farthest distance in one hour (30.61 km) and longest continuous ride without stopping (172.16 km), as well as Longest Journey (17,000 km and counting).

Teach, Learn, Share

I like meeting people who can show/teach me new things.
