About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Test the limits of the human condition.

ABOUT ME

I am the master of all evil: I can be neither destroyed nor created.
I am the master of all evil: I can be neither destroyed nor replicated.
When i'm not mastering evil, I am a veracious reader, avid guitar player, and chess enthusiast. Most of my time is spent in quiet contemplation, (the philosophical life) I am genuinely concerned about how knowledge is possible, whether suffering can be eradicated, and why waldo keeps hiding from us. After years of intense psychological and spiritual introspection, i believe I have lost my mind; thus, couchsurfing, i aim to find it again-I think it went south.

PHILOSOPHY

We live in a relative universe. How do we cope without having absolutes? Is there any way we can know good and evil? right and wrong? As humans we have a degree of freedom, that is, there are no moral codes that we must follow, we are free to do whatever the F*** we want. But isn't this freedom overwhelming? How do we deal with the anxiety and doubt that comes from having unlimited possibility? We must take full responsibility for our decisions and actions. We must remember that we all suffer, to err is to be human, and thus compassion is the highest virtue we can practice. We are all striving for our dreams, our desires but how do we deal with the contradictions of desires or when our conscience tells us we shouldn't do something we really want to do? These are the questions of life, the eternal questions, that i pursue endlessly, never finding any final answer but gaining wisdom all the same. Ultimately we are alone in ourselves, no one can live for us, and we must carve our own path. For this we must have strength and courage. Life is constantly changing. We must remember that we cannot let go, for this would presuppose that we had something to hold on to in the first place. It's all in a process of dissolving, and our job, in this vast universe, as finite beings, is to learn to live in between the flux of being and nothingness. Hey, Billy Shakespeare, take it away...

And like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself—
Yea, all which it inherit—shall dissolve,
And like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The other day I was standing in my kitchen. A ray of light illuminated the trapezoidal front of the partial island counter we have. There are two cupboards on the front that have glass windows in the center. The light came at such an angle that it penetrated the glass and and lit up the inside of the cabinet. On the inside we have many different silverware and plate-ware items arranged on the three selves. The way the light danced off those objects, and the way the shadows wrapped around edges of the cabinet, inside and out, at once struck me. The sheer stillness of it all, like an old Polaroid, seemed to stare at me as I stared at it. In this world of constant motion, of restless activity, here was something so simple, yet so profound, that for a moment, I felt myself in a dream, and was unsure of what was happening. It is I believe, in my humble opinion, the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
