ABOUT ME

I absolutely love to travel and see new places. Tourist sites are cool, but nothing beats getting lost amongst the winding side streets of a city or town. I am an animal lover, and enjoy seeing native wildlife -- or friendly strays who beg for food and cuddles. I am currently fulfilling a life-long dream of working and living in Japan before returning to America and working as an archivist.

Interests

I spend a lot of time reading, playing video games, and spoiling my hamster. History and old archaeological sites are another interest of mine, and I will happily go out of my way to look at piles of rocks that used to be important.

Climbing Mount Olympus. Even if I didn't make it to the top, the memory is a fond one. (sick + asthma... bad combo)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always eager to learn. Languages and crafts are especially fun to share. Also history and local traditions/customs that may seem commonplace. Burial practices and related beliefs are especially intriguing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know of some good food spots in Tenri and Nara, and also some good sightseeing spots.

Keep in mind that I live twenty minutes south of Nara, and over an hour from both Kyoto and Osaka.
