I'm trying to make the most of my uncertain post-grad, pre-career wandering phase. I'm very curious about almost everything. (Really.) During the past year and change, I've been really enjoying coming into contact with lots of different philosophies and ways of structuring a life. As a house guest, I try to be unobtrusive. If you enjoy showing guests around your city, that's awesome, but if not I'm happy to wander around on my own. In Pittsburgh, I was described as "better at chilling" than anyone else my host had met, which I took as a compliment. I'm good at keeping myself entertained.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
So far I've been lucky enough to set up informal couch surfing sessions with friends of friends. My one couchsurf through this site was last spring in Prague, and it was a really positive experience. I love the concept though and am looking forward to offering my own space up to visitors once I'm a little more established in the world.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm not so into movies and my taste in music runs toward folk punk stuff and sad men with guitars. The authors I've gotten excited about most recently include Rebecca Solnit, Stephen Pinker and Julian Barnes.
Teach, Learn, Share
I studied sociology and religious studies in college. Come at me with your questions about structural functionalism, Marx, Adam Smith, colonialism, early Christianity, Jung and mythology.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I am happy to contribute groceries, clean your kitchen or improvise weird meals for your entertainment.
My Interests
I love rivers and clouds and light. I pick up a lot of rocks when I go walking, especially on the beach. Brick sidewalks are great, also really old trees and sacred architecture and dark beer, especially weird coffee or chocolate or oatmeal stouts.
