About Me

I am...

- A husband, father, son, big brother, uncle, cousin (many times over) and friend
- A musician for fun (piano, guitar and I sing)
- An avid football fan (Western Sydney Wanderers & Liverpool)
- Self-employed and will hopefully never work for someone ever again!
- A foodie. LOVE good food. Whether it's eating in or out
- From Sydney. I also spent 6 years in the UK
- Someone who loves the water. Beaches, rivers, pools... If I'm near water I'm in my happy place

I'm a bunch of other stuff too but that's probably a good start

An OG couchsurfer having been here since 2008 and although I have 60-odd references, some people have requested via my wife's profile so have likely met, surfed with and hosted well over 100 people!

My gorgeous wife is Helen. She can be found at http://www.couchsurfing.com/profile.html?id=3DH95RU

I've tagged a bunch of other interests as well so I'm sure that you'll find someone that we can talk about and get along.

Oh, and coffee. I'm a coffe fiend. It's okay if you don't like coffee but for Hel and I, it's our guilty pleasure. Our current coffee order is a soy flat white

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to list a bunch of my experiences but frankly, giving them a sentence or two doesn't give them justice. Couchsurfing has given me unbelievable life experiences, a wife, kids and because of it's influence in my life, I'll always have room for it. Throughout I have met incredible people (some were just beyond amazing) and blessed to still call some of them friends.

Interests

Um... Better to save some stuff for when we meet, otherwise half the conversation is already known because I've listed off a bunch of stuff I like

  • singing
  • performing arts
  • festivals
  • dining
  • beer
  • walking
  • drinking
  • traveling
  • music
  • guitar
  • hiking
  • surfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to name so ask!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Again, my profile used to contain a list of things (clearly I couldn't pick one) that were great memories but again, a quick mention doesn't do them justice so I'll say this...

One day I was catching a flight out of Leeds so I reached out to the forums in Leeds to see if anyone wanted to hang out as my host wouldn't be available until that evening. This really nice girl met with me and we ended up spending hours together.

Fast forward and we've now got two kids, a house, a dog and too many shared memories to count. There's loads more to that but needless to say when you meet us you can ask all about it

Teach, Learn, Share

Music and Australia. I know a heap about both and if you stay over I'm probably going to share it with you whether you like it or not! :-P I love talking about travelling, culture, politics (Australia, US and world politics), football, food, places to see in Sydney and a whole bunch of other stuff

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lifetime of experiences, good conversation, reasons why Australians make some of the best coffee in the world, my musical skills (only if you want to hear them!), a drink and a meal (I'm happy to cook!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
