We are a family of four (plus one who has flown the coop so to speak) who are very proud to call Perth home.

We like to experience life as locals, to see the real faces of the people who inhabit lives unlike and yet so similar to ours. We want our children to grow up with respect for others, gratitude for what we have and a desire to see and live and breathe in so much more of this beautiful planet.

Our interests vary far and wide, we love travel and planning travel, trying to live sustainably and sensibly with a family of five, minimal living, camping, micro-financing, artistic and creative endeavours, and improving our community.

We listen to classical, R'n'B, country, indie, soul, jazz, contemporary and improv singalongs.

Books: ranging from classic novels, contemporary issues and the whole gamut in between. I’m especially fond of The Little Prince, and The Velveteen Rabbit.
There's something for everyone.....

Movies: Knee deep in Marvel, Studio Ghibli (LaPuta, Totoro, Kikis Delivery Service, Howls Moving Castle etc) but when the grown ups get together Richard is fond of Chevy Chase (Christmas Vacation series- the old one), The Blind Side, Hunger Games, Taxi, The Italian Job... TED talks! Oh, and documentaries. Never enough time.

We've achieved amazing things together - we are learning and growing all the time.

Soaking in a homemade sauna in Estonia in the summer.

Staying in a refugee camp in Bethlehem.

Exploring the underground drains in Kyiv.

Paragliding in Switzerland.

We are friendly, warm genuine people who are looking forward to similar interactions with other couch surfers/hosts. We both love cooking and will happily prepare a meal to share.
