Hello! Thank you for checking out my page.
Currently adventuring in Scotland with Steve - https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/steve-small
I'm always up for an adventure and breaking the routine. I love making new friends, exploring different perspectives, trading stories, a few drinks and good times.
Science and philosophy are combined for me. We are the universe knowing itself! So I keep my mind open and try to replace judgement with curiosity.
I also believe in the power of energy, the energy we harness manifests more of the same... So I try to maintain positive vibes! Easier said than done sometimes, but that's the challenge.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've met up with locals and couch surfers and stayed on some couches too. These experiences are the ones I will never forget and I'm excited to be able to host as well as surf much more. I love to travel and really get to know a place and it's people like the locals do.
Outdoors, adventure sports, surfing, snowboarding, canyoning, hiking, swimming, yoga, camping...
Listening and making music - I play piano, guitar and I love rocking out on the drums.
Photography is a big one - its my job! Film (I love old movies), docs (I studied journalism and documentaries was a natural favourite), books. Parties, adventures, missions, cultural exchange. Travellers tales! 420, tea, cake, coffee, cheese, cider, beer, gin, whisky...

Music, Movies, and Books
I love travel and adventure books, or books that give a real insight into a time or a place. I also love books that make you think for days/weeks after, that strike a chord. Into the Wild is my current page turner and its all of these things!
I studied journalism and I really like 'Literary Journalism' like Hunter S Thomson and Tom Wolfe etc. I'm also just starting to get into the world of poetry.
I love all music that is performed well, that really captures a mood and get lost in... or some good beats to throw some shapes to ofcourse. I'm a big fan of playlists and I explore most genres to soundtrack my life!
Hendrix, Cream, Pink Floyd all give me nostalgia for a time I wasn't around...
I love music docs: Beware of Mr Baker (drummer from Cream), Searching for Sugarman (a tale of an underated, mysterious musician) and People are Strange (the Doors)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Since I started travelling, my mind and eyes have opened to the constant adventure of life. You learn to see the magic in the everyday.
Sharing this stoke with friends and family is also incredibly valuable to me. Most of all I have loved teaching my mum to surf, snowboard and ride her bike without holding on to the handlebars. We talk about philosophy and practice yoga together, constantly learning and growing from each other.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell tales of travels and life growing up in rural Scotland and I can bake you some tasty shortbread (a scottish treat) if I have the ingredients!
I also love to listen, discuss, and I really enjoy a good story.
Hopefully we can learn from each other, share our perspectives and a memory.
