Overview
About Me
Hey there ! I’m Furkan Çaylak, but you can call me Furky — that’s what most of my friends do.
I’m from Eskişehir, Türkiye, and I work as an aircraft engine maintenance technician in the Turkish Air Force.
I also hold degrees in Industrial Engineering and Law (Justice) — a mix that probably shows how much I love learning and challenging myself!
I’ve traveled to more than 100 countries so far, usually solo. Traveling alone taught me a lot about trust, adaptability, and connecting with people from all walks of life. Every new city gives me a new story, and every person I meet leaves a small mark on my journey.
People often describe me as curious, respectful, and adventurous and thoughtful. I believe kindness and good communication can make anywhere in the world feel like home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it’s not just about finding a place to sleep — it’s about sharing moments, cultures, and stories.
I love meeting locals and learning how people live, think, and celebrate life in different corners of the world.
Couchsurfing makes travel personal and meaningful — it reminds me that the world is full of good people. So, I decided to join this network to actually make friends from all over the world 🌎

Music, Movies, and Books
Generally prefer Passenger but listening everything that sounds good for me. I am open to proposal all of music.Recently my favourite singer Dua Lipa and I love her.
I am generally reading novels that are written by Turkish author's though sometimes i read World Classics.
Of course I watch Netflix series but How I Met Your Mother unforgettable for me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing Acatenango Volcano in Guatemala — an 8–9 hour hike to the summit — and camping overnight at the top.
I spent the night watching Fuego Volcano erupt in the distance, hearing its deep rumble, and seeing red lava light up the sky.
Waking up above the clouds to watch the sunrise from the summit was one of the most powerful and unforgettable experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Different from classic Turkish foods (but if you want yes i can share turkish delight, baklava or else w/you :) ) I can share my respect, help for washing dishes, travel experiences or cooking traditional foods.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share interesting travel stories (trust me, after 100 countries, there are plenty!), a good sense of humor, and respect for your space and culture.
I love bringing a small gift from Türkiye wherever I go — a little gesture of gratitude.
And if you’re ever visiting my city, I’d be happy to return the kindness!
