Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Chengsi from China, currently living alone in Hakodate.
I’m a senior student studying Fisheries Science at Hokkaido University. From April next year, I’ll transfer into the second year of medical school and begin my journey as a medical student. On weekdays, I usually spend most of my time in the lab.
I enjoy exploring nature, hiking, and observing plants. I have a driver’s license but don’t own a car at the moment.
I love learning new things and listening to how people from different parts of the world live and think. Meeting people with different backgrounds always inspires me and gives me new perspectives.
Notice: Currently I can only host female guests due to personal reasons. Thank you for understanding.
Please keep the place clean, and be quiet at night as I’m a light sleeper. Thank you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Living in Hakodate can feel a little quiet at times, so I joined Couchsurfing to connect with people from around the world.
I’d love to share stories, cook together, or just have a cup of tea at home.
There’s a spare sofa if someone needs a simple and warm place to stay.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Taylor Swift, Sia, Laure Shang
TV Shows: Grey’s Anatomy, Reply 1988, Downton Abbey, The Great White Tower(白い巨塔)
Books: Dream of the Red Chamber (紅楼夢) is my favorite. I also love writers like Sanmao, Lin Yihan and Eileen Chang.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Japan alone for university and learned to live completely in Japanese. It was tough at first, but I slowly found my rhythm and built my own life here — it taught me how to adapt and grow in a new environment.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some Chinese or Japanese, and I’d love to learn your language in return.
I can also cook simple Chinese dishes — homemade fried rice, mapo tofu, dumplings — or we can cook something together.
