About Me
Hi :3 My name is Chiara, I'm a 29yo Doctor from Milan, Italy. After graduating I moved to London and lived there for two incredible years. I decided to come back to Italy for a bit in order to work part time and focus on travelling for a while before starting my higher training.
Travelling is one of my biggest passion, I enjoy connecting with different places and cultures. I am kind of a shy person but I love meeting new interesting people! ^-^ I enjoy using Couchsurfing a lot, I met so many amazing people both in Milan and abroad.
When I was little I often got the chance to travel abroad in the summer with my parents. Even though travelling with family can get quite stressful I am very grateful for those opportunities I had to start experiencing the world outside of my own country. When I got older I started doing solo travels more. I enjoy solo travelling as it gives me the opportunity to reconnect with myself and to create my own plans. Plus you are never really alone while travelling! I have mostly solo travelled to Asia as I feel it is a super interesting and culturally diverse destination and for most parts a very safe one for solo women travelers. I've been to Thailand once and to Japan twice and I dream of backpacking through South Est Asi one day. I had a big Nepal trip planned for 2020 but obviosly that never happened.
Hope to meet you soon! ^-^
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think the most important part of travelling is experiencing new cultures and growing from new experiences. In the summer of 2015 I spent one month in a super small city in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan, It was one one greatest experiences of my life, I had the chance of spending one month with a Japanese family, experiencing daily life with them, eating their same food, enjoying the small things and exploring the area by bike. Everything was amazing but sometimes you don't feel like staying in one place for a full month. I also love exploring as many new places as I can. I fell in love with Japan and their culture so I decided to go back on the spring break of 2019. I explored more of Hyogo prefecture by myself but still I really wanted to relive the experience of staying with locals, even for a few days. I've been to hotels, guesthouses and visited old friends, but I also stayed with three different amazing families I met on Couchsurfing and I'm so so happy and grateful for this opportunity I had. Everyone was so nice and welcoming to me, I enjoyed many different types of homemade food, experienced different housing styles and explored many beautiful places with my hosts. I will never forget this experience and will forever be grateful to them. I will surely treasure this amazing website for my future travels!
While I lived in London I found many interesting events through Couchsurfing and this helped me meeting new friends in a foreign city. In my home town of Milan I enjoy showing people around and give travellers suggestions on the best food spots! I met some really dear friends through this app and I am very grateful about it.
*Please note I am not using this website as a dating app, please do not contact if that's all your looking for!! I unfortunately had some really annoying interactions in here and I feel beeing respectful of other people's boundaries should be a requirement not only in a society but also online!!*
