Is it possible to see, do, and learn something new every day? I think I'll find out if I can.
If I can only live once, I better live twice while I'm still alive. I'm an airline pilot to pay the bills, but there is soooo much more to life than that. I hope to see the world and her wonderful, even strange as hell places and people (present company never excluded), and to eat very well along the way. So far, so good and getting even better! Here's some stuff I've done to enjoy the time: I rode a bike through South China alone and without a map. I got detained 3 times in one night at various border controls in the middle East. Spent 5 months working in Eastern and Southern Africa with primary schools to help them build their rugby programs. IronMan Switzerland. Got a really pretty girl to kiss me, did I mention? Climbed Kilimanjaro. Seen Vic Falls, Machu Picchu, Pyramids, Yangshua River Valley, CanyonLands, refereed international rugby, just moved to Taiwan, started a cookie business in New Zealand, started a non-profit in Chicago, seen the Big 5, got stared down by a silver back in Uganda from about 2 feet... lots of stuff.
Do good. Be happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been having a great time hosting people from around the world, lately less than I prefer because of a hectic work schedule. We've all had a great time and I look forward to the next one, as usual.
I've been hosting just about every other weekend since April and have been having a blast with it. I would have hosted more, but I went couch surfing in San Diego on two separate occasions, and Zurich, myself.
Good Company, Rugby, Dancing, good Food/Drinks, Playing Guitar, Dancing, Music, Anything Unique, Sports, Clubs, Bars, Shows, Learning, Triathlons, Marathons, stretching my legs - basically everything. I just can't get enough.
Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Me Talk Pretty One Day, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night, Long Walk to Freedom, John Adams, Flatland, The Prodigal Daughter, Kane and Abel (both by Jeffrey Archer, who, interestingly enough, is a convicted felon and crooked politician from the House of Commons), Kavalier and Clay, too many others to name...
Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Super Troopers, 3:10 to Yuma, Gladiator, Wedding Crashers, The Pricncess Bride, Happy Gilmore (sorry, it's embarrassing but it's who I am)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Toss up: survive my 20's, or taught Rugby in East Africa.
Teach, Learn, Share
People can be pretty alright, after all. Who knew?
