About Me
My name is Christian Petrykowski, I'm 30 years old, born in Brazil with Italian dual citizenship, engineer, PASSIONATE about life, surfing, family, traveling, hanging out with friends, meeting new people, learning different cultures, speak Portuguese, English and Spanish, don't watch TV very often, I rather watch the sunrise & sunset at the beach, believe in God, love kids (specially my two beautiful nieces Julia and Sarah), enjoy arts, tattoos, good food & wine, photography, try new things, listen to good music, my friends call me Chip, I believe good always wins and...
I QUIT MY JOB on 4/1/15 at a multinational company where I worked very hard and happy for 8 years in order to realize a dream of traveling the world, with a backpack, my surfboards and the lovely company of my girlfriend Bruna :)
Our journey begins on August 13th of 2015 with no end date however we estimate something between 12 to 24 months. We will start from Europe, then Africa, Asia, North America, Central America and finally back to Brazil.
We are planning a low cost trip with a minimum budget so if you happen to host us couple of nights anywhere around the world, we will be extremely grateful to you for the rest of our lives, will love to share good moments with you at your place & country and will look forward to host you someday back in Brazil or anywhere else in the world we might be living.
If God give me the opportunity to live with happiness, love, peace and healthy until my 90's, I am glad to think I still have 2/3 of my life to learn, enjoy and spread good energy all over the world.
See you soon :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since we started dreaming & planning about our travel around the world we thought that staying at somebody's couch, would allow us to share much more experiences with local cultures, it would be much more pleasant and the meaning of our trip would be much more valuable than staying at a normal hotel room by ourselves.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all kinds of music but I am not a country music fan.
My favorite movie of all time is "The Godfather", specially the first one with Marlon Brando and Al Pacino (I'm a huge fan of these two guys).
I recently read a book called "The monk who sold his Ferrari" by Robin Sharma which is already one of my favorites. The book helped to change my life and seek my dreams. If I am planning a trip around the world today, the book has its contribution.
Synopsis: The book develops around two characters, Julian Mantle and John, in the form of conversation. Julian narrates his spiritual experiences during a Himalayan journey which he undertook after selling his holiday home and red Ferrari. A successful trial lawyer, Julian collapsed from a heart attack while arguing a case in court, and his lengthy recovery led him to seek a spiritual path in the Himalayan mountains after receiving wise and practical lessons which brought drastic changes in his life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took a break in my executive career at a multi-billion company where I started as a trainee and have had several leadership roles including expat assignments in order to realize a dream of traveling the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be happy to teach some Portuguese and Spanish to anyone interested in learning the bad words!! LOL just kidding :)
If there is a beach where we can surf I will be more than happy to share my surfboards and catch some waves together!
I am looking forward to get to know nice people all over the world and expand our networking by sharing good laughs, waves, conversations, sunsets, experiences, trips, etc...and be sure my doors will always be open to receive you at my place.
