About Me
Hello! I’m Chris—a lifelong fan of travel vlogs and YouTube adventures, but this is where the screen ends and real-life travel begins for me.
@realchrispoole in insta
I’m a visual storyteller: I shoot both photos and videos, constantly creating. I’m also a health‑data nerd, think Brian Johnson’s Blueprint but with less money lol: I track my sleep rhythms, workouts, and everything in between, always curious how tiny tweaks can make a big difference.
Beyond all the pixels and analytics, my true joy lies in ideas. Philosophy, religion, big existential questions you name it. I love digging into debates, challenging my beliefs, and expanding my perspective.
I’m here on Couchsurfing because I want real-world connection: to meet curious people who enjoy conversation, creativity, and curiosity as much as I do. If you’re up for sharing thoughts over run around your town, comparing sleep-tracking apps, or just walking around a new city and chatting about life, I’ve already got half my backpack packed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I grew up in Utah, which is a beautiful place but also pretty much a monoculture—around 90% white and 50% Mormon (80% in my home town). That means most of the people I’ve met in life share similar backgrounds, values, and ways of thinking.
I’m on Couchsurfing because I want to break out of that bubble. I’m looking to connect with people from all over the world, hear new perspectives, and learn from different cultures. For me, travel isn’t just about seeing places—it’s about evolving my mindset by meeting people with completely different life experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: John Bellion and old-school Kanye West—two artists I can always come back to, no matter where I am.
Books & Authors: I love diving into the classics and heavy philosophy—The Count of Monte Cristo is a favorite, and authors like Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Fyodor Dostoevsky have shaped the way I think about life, freedom, and morality. I also enjoy a good nonfiction read when the right one grabs me.
Movies & Directors: Movies are tough because recency bias always kicks in, but I can definitely say I’m a fan of Christopher Nolan’s storytelling and Denis Villeneuve’s style. Whiplash also stands out as a film that stuck with me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ran an ultra marathon when I was 14 years old 51 Miles (82KM)

Learn:
• About other belief systems, philosophies, and worldviews—seriously, engaging with conflicting ideas has helped me challenge and strengthen my own.
• Cultural values and histories I haven’t experienced firsthand—every conversation expands my perspective.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer my skills in photography and videography—whether that’s helping capture family photos, creating content, or just sharing some creative shots from my travels. I’d be happy to share my work (https://sites.google.com/view/chrispoole/home) if you’re curious.
I’m also more than willing to pitch in around the house—whether that’s doing chores, helping clean up, or contributing in small ways that make hosting me easier.
