Going back to school soon to study comparative and historical linguistics (M.A.) Nothing makes me happier than exploring a new city except maybe avocados and good spicy rice , used book stores and concerts. I love to learn as much as I can about a place when I visit, everything from what's done differently to what is the same. I have a bit of a soft spot for bridges and waterways.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
What better way to get to know a new place then by getting to know some of the people. A real insiders version of the city often so different from the tourist side of things. I love the connections that one can make through couchsurfing as well as meeting fellow travelers.
Music, Movies, and Books
TV: Game of Thrones, Hannibal, Pushing Daisies, Sherlock, Doctor Who. Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, Pride and Prejudice, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and The Hobbit. (books and movies) Movies: Vicki Christina Barcelona, The Crow, A Royal Affair, Avengers, Sherlock Holmes. Music: Rock, Blues, occasionally some Metal of the more melodic persuasion. Strings- especially anything with alot of bass or cello. Some of my favorite are: Apocalyptica, Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, Apocalyptica, Stromae, Rammstein, Rival Sons, Joe Bonamassa,Apocalyptica, Jack White, Ed Sheeran, Godsmack.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Walking across a frozen lake. Swimming with dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico. Saw the last shuttle launch at Cape Canaveral.
My Interests
I'm the kind of person who either takes an interest and wholeheartedly gets into something passionately indiscriminately and ardently to the end of time or else just finds it vaguely interesting, not a whole lot of middle ground. I get way too much amusement from going to foreign grocery stores. (One of my favorite things to do while travelling honestly) :p I love finding street art and hidden streets. Most of my interests in general revolve around fantasy, books, languages, nature or travel. Foreign languages in general! I love most everything having to do with languages. Sunsets: all kinds, everywhere, the more color the better. Hiking, swimming, boating, kitesurfing. Mythology Books books books books!- I love to read and I collect books in foreign languages. Concerts and music festivals, just can't get enough!
