Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people from other cultures and experience travel in a new way.

Interests

Making music: I can play the guitar, the piano, the drums (a bit) and sing decently well

But recently I am starting to get into running/biking too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big movie and literature buff.

Recently I really got into the works of David Foster Wallace, Neil Gaiman, George R. R. Martin, Michail Bulgakow and Terry Pratchett, but I tend to read a lot of different genres.

One step at a time, I am also trying to make my way through the classics of movie history. I've already seen my fair share of movies but my list of films to watch is growing longer every day. I've been really impressed with The Cornetto Trilogy (especially Hot Fuzz, that movie might be my favourite Comedy ever made), Birdman, Blade Runner, Dr. Strangelove,...

Similarly to my movie and literature preferences, I like to listen to a lot of different music. I guess that most of the music that I like to listen to fits somewhere along the Indie spectrum but my playlists can get quite mixed. So you can catch me listening to anything between Classical music, Jazz, D&B, Rock, Electroswing or Folk at one time or another.
Right now I am listening to a lot of GoGo Penguin, Jamie Cullum and Tom Misch, that stuff rotates a lot though.

Sleeping on the beach in Cassis while travelling/busking through Europe via Interrail.

Co-Organizing a Juggling/Performing Arts convention.

Representing Austrian medical students at conferences in Egypt and France

I am always enthusiastic to learn new things and it (almost completely) doesn't matter what it is. If you have got something you wanna teach me I am open to it. Vice versa if you want me to show you something that I know I will be glad to help. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would wish for my Couchsurfing experience to be not just another way to find a place to sleep, but to meet new people and gain new friends, so let's meet up and see what we can share with each other, be it experiences, skills or thoughts.
