I like to think I'm an easy-going English teacher from the North-East of England, who loves travelling, experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. I've been lucky enough to work as a teacher in Asia, South America and now I'm currently back in the UK teaching at a university. I enjoy sharing my language and culture with others, and learning more about theirs.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
To meet new, interesting people who can share their awesome cities/towns with me and hopefully impart some local-wisdom. And also to do the same with my own less impressive brand of wisdom.
Music, Movies, and Books
Anything from rock to reggaeton. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Inglorius Basterds, Goodfellas. Burmese Days - George Orwell Lord of the Rings - Tolkein A Farewell to Arms - Ernest Heminway The Aeneid - Virgil
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Boat ride down the Irrawaddy river at sunset, in Myanmar.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English and to a lesser extent Spanish (albeit Chilean Spanish), and love learning new languages. My meals have been described as "mediocre" by various sources, but I make a bloody good cup of tea.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Good cheer and a tolerable personality.
My Interests
Travelling is a given. I love the gentlemanly game of cricket (as any true Englishman should) and the ungentlemanly game of football, so I'm happy to watch/play either of those with varying degrees of success. I love a good night out, whether at a club or a chilled bar, and if hosted I vow to buy the first round of drinks.
