COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are oficial hosters now. It's cool. I realize that we (our household) may have dissapointed a few guests in that we don't have a lot of time to spend together. Thus far there have been no get to know each other dinners. It's sad but the reality of our lives. We love hosting, however we have jobs, kids and homework.

兴趣

We lived in Oaxaca Mexico in 2004 and thrugh July of 2006. We are off to China for two years at the end of 2007.

音乐、电影和书籍

love movies, Mostly real films made by artist. I am a bit of a snob, but admittedly I love action films as well. We just built a home theatre that kicks.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

i lived in Haiti for 6 months. It was unreal. The only original place I have seen on earth.

deep request. I am starting to repeat myself here but, i am all about exchanging. I am all about sharing resources and opening up my home if at all possible to good people. The concept came together for me when i backpacked across Europe about 15 years ago. I was stunned at how easy it was to wind up on a strangers couch. It was amazing and i realized that Europe was it's people more so than the sites. When i returned to LA i was at a diner with Friends. Some Germans were on the sidewalk asking directions at the same time we were leaving. I got to talking with them and they wound up asking if they knew of a place they could crash for cheap. I offered my place but my friend called them off thinking he was bailing me out. I asked him why he did that later and he just had some cold remark about how you just don't do that with Strangers. Oddly everyone in our group felt the same. I vowed at that point that i would always give a couch to whomever needs it. We would talk and leave each other feeling closer to why we are walking around each day. It's the communion. Americans don't have the curiousity that almost everyone other culture on the planet has. I am thinking different.
