About Me
Despite the face that I'm studying a bachelor of Journalism, I find it so difficult writing about myself... When I'm not studying, most of my time is spent going to music gigs, hiking around Adelaide, going to markets and cooking fresh local produce. Since arriving in Canada I realise hiking in Adelaide is not actually hiking but more of an intermediate walk.
I'm living in Montreal, Canada for the next six months. While I'm abroad I'll be studying and exploring as much of Canada as I have time to see and can afford!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As you would expect on Couch Surfing, I love meeting new people and seeing new places through a different/local perspective. I think the best way to get a feel for and experience a place is to get to know the people who live there. Something along the lines of it's the people in the place rather than the place itself.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have an eclectic taste in music - I guess certain genres work with particular moods. Most of my time is spent listening to Australian bands but jazz is a close second. Sticky Fingers, Radiohead, Chet Baker, Ocean Alley, Good Boy, Mosquito Coast, The Smiths, .
Like my taste in music, I have a broad taste in books: from classics to fantasy and biographies. Great Expectations, To Kill a Mocking Bird. Memoirs of a Geisha, New Jack: Life as a Prison Guard, The Mortal Instruments.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some of my most 'amazing' moments have been as simple as camping with friends - sitting around the campfire, eating good food and listening to good music.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My favourite place to be (besides outside or at a music gig) is in the kitchen either cooking up something new, experimenting with new ingredients or flavours, or making Nanna's homemade sausage roll recipe. Always enthused to cook for people!
