About Me

Hi! Brand new to this app, hoping to use it to make connections during my travels. In 2020 I disbanded the musical theater company I ran for a decade in Michigan and set about traveling the world. I've now been traveling for 5 years, non stop. Im a musician and illustrator by trade, a nomad by design. 45+ countries and counting. I’m enodiamond on IG, to see I’m a real human boy with friends and references.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking to meet people and learn about local life! If there are any music events, poetry events, storytelling, folks making zines or doing screenprinting- I am super interested in art at a local level and artistic movements within communities. I am particularly interested in history and archaeology as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived on a cargo ship in the Amazon river, traveling from Peru to Brazil

Teach, Learn, Share

When I was young, I dropped out of school and set about hitchhiking across the US. I did this for years. In that time I lived and worked on farms. Was a make up artist. Played a LOT of music. Lived on cult run communes. Worked in factories, did day labor painting houses and fixing roofs, waited tables at high end wine restaurants; worked a bit in television and on radio. That experience led to me starting my own musical theater company and touring the US in it for a decade. I bought a bus, I traveled with a group ranging from 15-20 members, and staged extremely controversial and boundary pushing performance art that satirized all aspects of American culture- from politics to social issues and racism and ignorance to our wealth, ego, ignorance… everything.

In addition to that, I worked carnivals as a caricature artist; drawing portraits of rural Americans for fast cash. Between touring the carnivals and staging my musicals and plays, I’ve done what even few Americans have done; seen and lived in every centimeter of my country. All of it while living in a bus or an ambulance (I do camper van conversions in my spare time- see photos)

Now I am traveling the world. Looking for the next step, the next project, the next community. I am still dreaming and still gobbling up inspiration wherever I go, craving connection and to cultivate and celebrate curiosity. In my travels I’ve been an art teacher for kids in the Yucatán, I’ve been a community organizer and advocate for the homeless back in the states, I’ve done volunteer work on farms, I’ve organized talent shows and staged small plays, done voiceover work for internet radio in Colombia; I want to do MORE.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I travel with a guitar so we can sing some songs, I can draw your caricature (if we can find some crayola markers, all mine got wrecked when my bag fell in a lake), tell stories
