ABOUT ME

I am currently biking across the United States doing the transamerica bicycle route!

I come from the small town of Philipsburg, Montana, but I did my undergraduate work in Bellingham, WA where I wrote my own degree mixing music and anthropology. I went on to study in North Carolina getting a Master's degree in Appalachian music! (what can I do with that? Well couchsurf of course!)

I now work as a musician/singer (http://www.cotyhogue.com) and do various other jobs on the side.

Fall of 2012 I spent three months traveling around Italy and had wonderful couchsurfing experiences! While I can't host anyone (still couchsurfing a bit myself), I would be glad to get together for coffee or recommend things to do in the area.

I can play lots of music and love to share that with people whether that be playing for them or helping them learn and participate. Everyone can make music. There are no bad musicians or singers. Just shy ones!
