About Me

*NOTE this profile is way out of date. I will update it soon.

To be ready for what's next

As my life continues to spiral to new places, new sounds, new tastes, and new experiences I have found I know less and less and less. I am insatiably curious so don't mind if I ask question like a kindergardener on his first day of school. I am still annoyingly reserved but I am working on that. I have a lot of trouble with being told I can't do something. I harbor so little ill-will you would be amazed.

What I wrote 2 years ago:

If game developers, rugby players, and drifters were put into a venn-diagram I would preside in the one point where they meet. The truth is that I have always followed my nose and have never followed anything that I couldn't feel in my bones. Where this will lead me is looking more and more broad as I continue through my life and meet new people. A while ago this trend would have scared me but I have begun to learn how to enjoy the chaos. The wider my path the more I am capable of.

Life is too short to judge
Uncertainty can be our guiding light

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess the time has come that I am no longer a newbie to couchsurfing. I have been hosted more time than I can count and have hosted even more than me. This community has made every city I have ever visited feel like home and for that I am infinitely thankful. But despite this I still feel like a beginner. Every time I meet a new traveler I feel like a newcomer learning the basics all over again, and boy do I love it :)

Hosting, hosted, and events. Done it all and haven't even scratched the surface. I am just getting going on this whole life thing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I watch movies by directors. Some of my favorite are: Paul Greengrass, Daren Aronofsky, Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, James Cameron, Wachowski brothers, Roland Emmerich (guilty pleasure), and (of course) Steven Spielberg.

Shows: I would love to watch more shows but they are just so damn time consuming, here are a few: Simpsons, Breaking Bad, Seinfeld, Dexter, South Park, Family Guy, Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Friends, and X-files.

Music: My tastes vary. U2 is by far my favorite band but I haven't met many people who share this interest here are a few bands that come to mind: Rolling Stones, Mumford and Sons, Naked and Famous, Coldplay, REM, Alexi Murdoch, AC/DC, Guns n' Roses, Beatles, Linkin Park, The Killers, Marina and the Diamonds, and Solar Fields

Food: All of it except rare vegetables, sorry vegetarians but I would sooner eat live insects than lettuce in any condition...seriously try me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent two weeks in the untamed wilds of the Rockies, saw more moose than people.

Lived homeless for a month to work on a dream project and to prove that I could live that way.

Cycled the East Coast of the US.

Hitchhiked Australia a tad.

Went to Burning Man

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an amazing hugger. Anyone who wants to challenge me to a hug-off be warned, I will hug to the death.

Despite it's many flaws I do love the US, if you want me to explain the many reasons it is such an awesome place please ask.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share my stories almost as much as I love hearing new ones. If you like a talking for hours about life, I am the guest for you :)
