ABOUT ME

My name is Courtland, but you can call me Court if you like. I like to think I'm laid back, but formal when I need to be. I can go suit and tie, or t-shirt and flip flops, it's all good.

A few years ago, I was given the opportunity to travel abroad in Europe. While I was hesitant and nervous at first, I realized at the end of my trip why people love to travel.

I love meeting new people, learning new things (recently just learned how to play the harmonica), and having fun/different experiences.

I am here in South America for next several months with the hope of learning how to speak Spanish and to experience everything (or as much as I can) this huge continent has to offer. I'm looking to stay with someone who shares the same interests as I do. I'll even cook for you, as long as you help me translate the ingredients.

PHILOSOPHY

I am currently just a couch surfer, not a host yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a couchsurfing account for a while now. However, I have yet to be in a position to actually stay with a host. The only experience I've had is discussing it with other travelers who have either hosted or surfed on another person's couch.

Interests

I kind of already said this earlier, but... I love meeting new people, learning new things, and having fun/different experiences.

I would say music and photography are my two biggest interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the Summer of 2012, I hiked the Narrows in Zion National Park, Utah. The 16-mile hike is normally completed over the course of two days. However, I didn't have any camping equipment, so I had to hike the trail in one day. About two-thirds of the hike is completed wading through a river! It was one of the most tiring, amazing, beautiful, and fulfilling experiences I've ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll teach you about music (guitar specifically) and can even teach you a few delicious recipes. I love learning new languages, so maybe we can both help each other with that.
