Getting a better understanding of the world around you has nothing to do with seeing it for yourself and everything to do with experiencing it through the eyes of a local.

Music: Where to begin, my all time top-5 favorite bands are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, ELO, Guster, and Mason Jennings. I am listening to a lot of Frank Turner, the Strumbellas, the Vaccines, and Will Varley at the moment.

Movies: My top-5 movies would be Patton, Almost Famous, High Fidelity, American Psycho, The Professional.

Books: My favorite book is The Hobbit, but my favorite author is Alexander Dumas.

I'm a pretty low impact guest when I travel and very independent. As an Eagle Scout, I will leave the same two things with my host as I do in nature: (1) Nothing to show that I have been there. (2) My thanks (to paraphrase Baden-Powell).
