ABOUT ME

I am married and travel with my beautiful bride & best friend Abby.
We are 44 and 45. We are from the Dallas, Texas area. We resigned from our desk jobs to travel for 15 months in 2014. We are now back in the daily work schedule looking forward to each new adventure! We love connecting with like-minded people & quite frankly don't mind meeting not-so-like-minded folks too.

It is a personal goal of mine to visit every state in the US, every country in The Americas, and every continent in the world. We are close on the continents and not even close on the others.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

.We are excited to be able to meet the locals of our travel destinations. I am super flexible so if you only have room for 1, Abby can have the bed/couch, and I will take the floor. But, we are a package deal. Pet friendly.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We feel like veteran users and have had great experiences! Everyone we meet seems open and nice. It is rather difficult to offend or upset us because we are pretty easy going. We surfed in Guatemala, Fiji, USA, Australia, Malaysia and a few places around Texas. We have made some lifelong friends that we met in Shreveport, LA and ended up traveling in Thailand and even a part in their wedding! Still great friends even 12 hours apart after 10 years! We are definitely excited about expanding our CS network and experiencing CS while we travel around the world!

Interessi

We like people! We have loads of friends and no enemies. We are very open minded, and there is very little that will surprise us.

I (James) love rugby. I play and watch wherever I can. Other sports as well. We are really into learning about the places we are visiting.

Abby loves her cat Gilly & her family. Just ask her. She loves to sleep in on a Saturday morning. Making new friends & keeping up with old ones. Also, going to museums, concerts & Texas Rangers.

We like culture. We love learning, but Sometimes, it just makes sense to grab a drink and hang out. We like to dance, not that we are "good at it technically," but if we have fun, it's good. We like concerts and music festivals too!

Musica, film e libri

Music- Everything. Seriously. many people say that but we have everything on our playlist. We bloomed in the 90's so much of that gets the most play, but I also like classic rock and EDM. It changes everyday though.

Movies- Abby likes CHEEZY movies/romantic comedies. We both watch documentaries. We both enjoy classics. We like to laugh, so any attempt at humor usually works.

Books- James likes non-fiction/cheesy sales & motivation stuff. We both have read the bible. Abby has read some popular titles: Eat, Pray Love; And the Hunger Games Series. James read Tolkein. Both liked "Heart of Darkness", "Things Fall Apart", "Wild at Heart", "Grapes of Wrath", "The Great Gatsby."

We swam with humpback whales in Tonga. We went to every time zone and traveled around the world for 15 months and went to 22 countries. We try to get at least one stamp in our passport every year.

Abby can teach some chords on the ukulele.

James knows random facts like: A group of lemurs is called a "troop." And the most populous nation in Africa is Nigeria.
