To give visitors to Belfast the warm hearted welcome I got when I moved here four years ago

ABOUT ME

A big dreamer with plans to see as much of the world as possible...currently making mischief in Belfast and meeting lots of fun people along the way.
Things I love: glitter, old books, getting lost (regular occurrence), working for an awesome women's charity, dancing like a fool.
Things I loath: loath is a strong word but I am not a big fan of trying to get parked in Belfast- maybe this will improve with time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To share some of the kindness that I received when I couch surfed during my travelling in Europe and South America and to meet great and interesting people from all around the world. If I cant go travelling I figured I can bring the travelling experience to me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big book collector (hoarder?) which is part of a hangover from studying English Literature at Uni, so for many years I was always getting books as gifts from family and friends but never had time to read them whilst I was studying, so now I am finally catching up with some of the books that have been on my book shelf for a long time. I couldn't chose a favorite but some books that have stayed with me are; Everything is Illuminated, True Blood, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Brooklyn, Lady Oracle
I am a recent Netflix convert and always happy to watch a movie. I can show you the film theater here in Belfast which is always showing interesting and quirky films!
Music yes! Especially live- so much great stuff happening here in Belfast. Some gigs I've been to recently and music I love: First Aid Kit, Chic, Bassment Jaxx, Bruce Springsteen, Polar Bear, Alt J, La Roux, The War on Drugs, Fleet Foxes..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Zip lining in the Andes was a lot of fun! (Do not hold on too tight as you will get stuck in the middle of the zip-line- there is my tip!)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A cup of tea is always the answer. I can also make you oatcakes which is the best savoury breakfast and hangover cure from my home town of Stoke on Trent. Conversation and laughter!
