I'm a music teaching living in Jakarta, Indonesia. I've enjoy the places I've traveled and look forward to having more adventures around the world. The teaching schedule is great for traveling and allows me plenty of time in the summer to get away to some really cool places. I love meeting people from different cultures and finding interesting things to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because meeting people from different cultures is really interesting to me. I have traveled a fair amount myself and love getting a local's perspective of a place I visit. I’m also happy to have someone explore Jakarta with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find that since I'm a music teacher I enjoy music groups who play real instruments and sing. Electronic music is starting to grow on me recently.

I usually don't sit still or have the time or patience to watch many movies. I enjoy movies where the characters really go through a noticeable transformation (usually for the better) from beginning to end.

I'm probably a typical guy and mostly read non-fiction. I like to feel like I'm learning something about the world or a time in history. Reading is usually reserved as a summer activity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a two week, 500 mile bike ride across the state of Oregon in America a few summers ago. The main reason I signed up to do it was because I wanted to see if I could do it physically. I did and it is one of my favorite trips that I've been on.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I care about being able to sleep and rest at a host's place. Whether it is couch, spare room or air mattress traveling can be exhausting, so I think it's really important to be able to rest and recharge for the next day's adventures.
